Persuasive writing is a kind of writing, where the authors convince the readers to take an action on a particular issue. The words used in this essay are suitably chosen to persuade the readers. In brief, this type of writing allows the readers to take their position on an issue. Persuasive writing is common in the advertising sector and in other sectors, where convincing people is a part of the job.
However, developing a persuasive writing is understanding an issue and also taking a stand on an issue. Persuasive essay allows the writers to spread about an action or issue and build strong arguments to convince others. By reading this essay, the readers get easily involved and develop a point of view on a situation or an action. Three Aspects of Persuasion:
• Reason– Here, the writer must explain the reasons thoroughly why the readers should accept his views. The way of approaching to the readers should be clear and cogent. Arrange your points in a fair manner.
• Emotion– A writer should allow his readers to develop a strong feeling about the points narrated in the essay.
• Beliefs – Gauge the readers’ expectations and beliefs and include their values in your essay to make your approach strong.
Some Important Techniques for Persuasive Writing:
Repetition: Repetition of some phrases or words is good as it allows the readers to stick to the subject.
Exaggeration: Exaggeration is a part of a persuasive document.
The use of emotive language: Inculcate some words that are related to people’s emotion, such as angry, sad, upset, guilty and others and use these words suitably in the essay.
The use of personal pronouns: The use of pronouns such as you, we, our make the readers understand that the writer is addressing to them.
Alliteration: Alliteration is good to catch the readers’ attention in the essay.
